Get to know 902

We’ve spent years trying to make sure that your time at 902 Athletics is the best hour of your day. Find out how we do it.

who is 902 athletics?

902 Athletics is more than a gym. It’s a movement.

We’re bringing a health and wellness experience to the south shore of Nova Scotia that is truly unique. Our community was built with the idea that we could help each other be the best version of ourselves. Everyone at 902 Athletics genuinely wants you to succeed.

We came from small and humble beginnings, and we’ve grown like wildfire. We offer health and fitness solutions that will meet you where you’re at now. The people who come to 902 Athletics range from grandparents looking to keep up with their grand kids, to high level athletics looking to make it into the big leagues.

In a year you’ll ask yourself why you didn’t get started sooner.

the grassroots.

902 Athletics was started out of pure passion.

Joel started 902 Athletics in his parents garage. Realistically, there was probably enough room for two people to work out. 3 Barbells, two sets of rings and one coach.

It grew to over 60 members.

Sure, there was a pool outside the door, and you could often get a cookie from Joel’s mom when you went inside to use the bathroom, but we knew this amazing thing that was built needed a permanent home.

As the movement gained traction, it went from a double garage, to a 2500 sqft facility and now it’s the south shores largest boutique fitness facility.

There is one thing that hasn’t changed over all these years – the amazing community.

902 Athletics stands to give our community the best possible fitness experience.

We have created a health and wellness movement that the south shore has never seen before. There is something for every fitness level, even if you’ve never been inside a gym.

We strive to offer the highest quality outlet for health and fitness while focusing on creating a strong community that can walk out of 902 Athletics as the best version of themselves.

andrew Hieghton-Jackson

I have a passion for fitness that provides a true function for your life and will bring mobility, balance and stability training to my classes and personal training.

I have a long sporting history; playing rugby for the North of Scotland Schools, Rowing for Scotland and competing at the professional level for windsurfing in the UK prior to joining the British Army.

As an officer in the Infantry I trained my soldiers to ensure they were combat ready. Following a battlefield injury where I sustained a traumatic brain injury I focused on my own mobility training which led me to train others in mobility.
